The primary role as an Inventory Control Coordinator is managing and executing the Company’s contractual right to sock rotations and or scrap slow or non-moving inventory. A successful Inventory Control Coordinator will assist the Purchasing Team in meeting the Company’s goal to have the right inventory on the shelves before the customer need it.
What you will do?:- Deeply understand individual vendor processes and procedures
- Own and proactively drive the stock rotation and scrap allowance process with each vendor, to ensure optimal inventory position and maximize our returns of undesirable/slow-moving inventory
- Report any changes in stock rotation and scrap terms to supervisor
- Skillfully negotiate terms and agreements with suppliers, even beyond contractual obligations, to secure favorable terms and additional return or scrap privileges
- Efficiently extract essential data from both supplier websites and Business Intelligence (BI) tools for informed decision-making
- Verify the alignment of supplier-provided data with internal records to ensure data accuracy
- Accurately upload and manage data on supplier websites, maintaining timely updates
- Integrate approved return or scrap lists seamlessly into our system
- Initiate monthly email communication to request allowance dollars from suppliers, with diligent weekly follow-ups to secure authorization and credit
- Take responsibility for the precise and timely weekly updates and maintenance of the annual stock rotation and scrap reporting
- Collaborate effectively with distribution centers to acquire certificates of destruction, ensuring prompt transmission to suppliers
- Guarantee the accurate and expedited receipt, processing, and recording of credits from suppliers
- High School or GED, required
- Associate or bachelor's degree, preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with VLOOKUP’s, concatenate, math functions with multiple cell references, and importing data
- Team-oriented operating style with effective interpersonal skills that allow successful business interactions with individuals of a variety of work styles, personalities, and career levels
- Takes initiative and follows up on outstanding items until fully completed
- Organized and detail oriented
