Job description

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Logistics Division Chief (DC) to serve within the Fire Department Administration Division as the program manager for all activities related to the planning, coordinating, and monitoring logistics operations such as warehousing, inventory, fleet management, facilities management, and supply chain processes. We work onsite out of the Fire Department facility located at our Central Facilities Area, approximately one hour from Idaho Falls.

Reporting to the Deputy Chief of Administration, you will assist with organizational strategic planning and accreditation and shall establish goals for the Logistics Division that implement Facility and Site Services (F&SS) expectations and integrate with Fire Department divisions and programs. The Logistics DC makes assignments and prioritizes all items related to program responsibilities.

  • Oversee the implementation of First Due software suite and functioning as the contact for the assets and inventory management piece

  • Facilitate and manage the service contracts for the Fire Department (Statement of Work process, numbering, quotes, and submitting the request)

  • Approve invoices, saving data, and ensuring appropriate charge numbers are being used

  • Understand the visitor notification process for subcontractors and vendors

  • Process vendor payments and manage the purchase card program for the Fire Department

  • Manage the excess property program for the Fire Department

  • Understand the maintenance work request (MWR) process

  • Be a secondary Subcontract Field Representative (SFR) for the Fire Department

  • Work with the INL Chemical Coordinators to ensure the Fire Department is in compliance

  • Coordinate with program managers and make recommendations for maintenance requests, repairs, and systems testing of equipment

  • Ensure all stations are supplied with the necessary supplies and equipment

  • Work with all Fire Department program managers to ensure they have the tools to make their programs effective

  • Ensure work assignments are clear and sufficient staff is available for support for large incidents

  • Account for all personnel, keeping general safety a priority for large incidents

  • Anticipate service and support requirements

  • Participate in planning activities for internal and external meetings, gatherings, ceremonies, graduations, etc.

  • Fire Department point of contact for the facility managers on maintenance and/or construction activities

  • Manage all Fire Department apparatus maintenance

  • Periodically relieve/act for the Deputy Chief of Administration during periods of absence.

  • Associate's degree plus 9-12+ years of experience OR Bachelor's degree plus 5-8+ years of experience OR Master's degree plus 3-6+ years of experience OR 13-16+ years of experience in lieu of degree

  • Advanced knowledge and expertise in applicable laws standards and codes related to government and company procurement and purchasing.

  • Must have a strong understanding of Fire Department operations and apparatus and equipment procurement

  • EMT-B License valid in the State of Idaho

  • Driver's License valid in the State of Idaho

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship. 

Job Information: 

  • Salary Grade: PR0300 - 200 ($81,288 - $134,100) / PR0400 - 210 ($93,492 - $154,212)
