We are hiring immediately for a Logistics Distribution Scheduler at our global headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The work hours for this role are 7 p.m.-7 a.m. (shift differential offered). The Logistics Distribution Scheduler ensures delivery of oxygen, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen, helium, and CO2. The scheduler will:
  • Formulate delivery schedules for multiple terminals and scheduling with our own company driver fleet of over 700 drivers. You will be using an internal software system and will have two weeks of on-site (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.) training during your first two weeks of employment. Additional training continues over the following two months with a senior trainer.
  • Optimize delivery schedules and minimize supply chain cost.
  • Assign and pre-plan loads to drivers according to appointment times and driver availability to prevent supply interruptions.
  • Respond to frequent real-time delivery changes driven by supply chain events and provide direction to drivers during trip-related activities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and drivers.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Self-motivated; acts with accountability to get results and takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of ownership, energy, and positive attitude.
  • A strategic analytical mentality; sees ahead to future possibilities and finds opportunities to be efficient; able to devise plans of action and reassess those plans regularly while being detail and process oriented.
  • Can solve problems in a very fast paced environment while effectively prioritizing workload.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills and able to communicate with respect and integrity when interacting with cross functional teams daily.
  • Able to work in a high call volume environment while effectively multi-tasking and following up on action items to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Strong computer navigation skills (ability to use internal logistics systems to forecast customer demand, build/schedule delivery trips and dispatch drivers).
  • Customer service experience preferred; externally focused to search for ways to meet or exceed customer expectations and experience.
  • College degree or supply chain / logistics experience is desired but not required.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays to support a 24/7 operation. (Opportunities to switch to day shift are available at a future point.)
