Are you looking to be a part of a tech forward startup that is changing an industry? We are seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator to oversee and facilitate the supply chain operations of our company. You will be the one to coordinate with our suppliers to achieve the effective distribution/consolidation of purchased material to our warehouse in Laredo. A great asset for a Logistics Coordinator is their communication and negotiation skills. They have solid knowledge in supply chain principles and basic logistics workflows. The ideal candidate will have great record-keeping abilities and a customer-oriented approach. As a tech forward company, you must be comfortable using various types of management software and must be creative in adapting the various tools we have to produce results. The goal of this role is to standardize procedures within our distribution channels while aiming for maximum efficiency in logistics spend.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor inbound and outbound operations.
- Coordinate with purchasing team to account for all purchase orders made to suppliers and agreed upon lead times with supplier.
- Coordinate with suppliers sales/shipping department to get order shipping dimensions and ready for pick up date for each shipment.
- Utilize freight booking software to quote shipments, book, and schedule pick ups.
- Analyze shipping options and determine consolidation strategy to reduce freight spend. (Determine if we can ship a full truckload instead of various LTL shipments)
- Follow up with suppliers and carriers to ensure shipment documents are in order and in the hands of involved parties.
- Follow up with suppliers and transportation providers to ensure pick ups are successful.
- Maintain and update tracking information for each order.
- Organize/audit paperwork related to shipment by order and file accordingly.
- Coordinate with sales team/warehouse team to prepare outbound shipment documents.
- Coordinate local delivery of material with our own driver or 3rd party.
- Prepare accurate reports of transportation and logistics spend for management.
- Review current carrier base to create transportation supplier scorecard based on performance.
- Expand transportation and logistics suppliers by seeking new carriers and service providers.
Skills
- Proven experience in logistics industry in any capacity
- Experience in customer service will be appreciated
- Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes
- Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software (ERP, Freight Management/Booking Software, Load boards, Rate Tools)
- Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to support other teams when needed
