What's the role?

The role of the Logistics Analyst is responsible for partnering with freight forwarders and carriers to execute daily operational tasks relevant to Transportation activities. This position facilitates inbound stock movements from suppliers to re-supply centers to regional warehouses and customers while balancing all decision factors between Vendors, Materials Management, and Warehouse Management to provide excellent service and managing transportation costs.

What does the role involve?

  • Ensure customer requirements are fulfilled and adhere to Hilti’s Freight Policy and packaging requirements
  • Coordinate Inbound vendor shipment schedules and appointments, and determine mode shifts between truckload and LTL as necessary
  • Provide appropriate shipment notifications and insure documentation communications for shipments
  • Manage 3PL process and execution of Inbound Shipments
  • Ensure Hilti shipping practices are current and accurate for legal movement of dangerous goods
  • Manage payment to vendors through NVision system according to contract pricing agreements
  • Properly handle incoming phone calls and emails in a timely manner
  • Cover overflow calls from other Logistics Specialists and provide answers and solutions when possible
  • Primary driver of efforts to reduce transportation costs while maintaining and improving service levels
  • Provide reporting and analysis to Logistics Management
  • Resolve potential transport issues by presenting solutions based on available stock levels, carrier and warehousing scheduling demands and expediting shipments where necessary
  • Monitor Shipment request daily and take corrective actions to resolve issues in a timely manner to insure product availability
  • Manage transport provider capacity and service level agreements
  • Additional Duties, as assigned

What you need is:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, required
  • Demonstrated problem solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • High customer focus with a demonstrated willingness to take extra steps to satisfy internal and external customer requirements
  • Ability to work with Enterprise Requirements Planning systems
  • Working knowledge of Transportation Requirements, Distribution Requirements, and Planning/Materials Requirements preferred
  • Possess strong knowledge of PC and software applications including MS Office
  • Demonstrated verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Comfortable working with strict deadlines
  • Must be detail oriented; follow up and organizational skills, preferred
