Responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the division; hands on operation of all equipment in the yard with the ability and willingness to train other employees, coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; reporting pertinent information to the owners; responding to inquiries or requests for information.
Essential Duties
1. Performs a variety of duties to support the division:
a. Discuss with supervisor daily and hourly goals and requirements for each department from Repair, New Car Line, Manufacturing, Blast & Paint, In Bound & Outbound Tracks, and Storage Yard.
b. Communicate with management on work schedule including future projects, inspection, and maintenance requirements of equipment for safe operation.
c. Communicate with management to safely move railcars and locomotives to appropriate departments based on schedule and ensure that they are chocked and/or handbrakes set.
d. Communicate with management to safely stage railcars in the appropriate yard location with the appropriate amount of handbrakes set.
e. Retrieve or place railcars on the Inbound or Outbound tracks and verify that the correct railcars were moved.
f. Audit yard monthly to verify cars on property aligns with what has been shipped/received. A monthly yard report is to be turned into the Plant Manager.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
