JOB SUMMARY:
The Loan Title Specialist plays a crucial role in offering direct support to frontline staff on issues related to Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) and titling processes. Accountable for understanding and following the department's internal rules as well as MVD rules, procedures, and processes for accuracy and proper documentation of all titled consumer loans. Responsibilities include daily audit of all titling documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to sending to MVD for processing. Also responsible for reporting any errors to staff for correction as well as updating of tracking reports for these errors along with their corrections. Additional duties include but are not limited to perfecting liens on all MVD documents, review and payment of weekly MVD invoices, releasing titles, scanning and archiving titles and other supporting loan documents. Other duties may include performing loan account maintenance and loan extensions.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Serve as the credit union's primary contact in handling all MVD-related transactions, including but not limited to vehicle registrations, title transfers, and lien placements.
- Ensure all MVD-related transactions comply with state and federal regulations.
- Perform thorough review of MVD documentation received from all branches to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to submitting to MVD for processing.
- Review and monitor indirect lien perfections for completion and accuracy.
- Work with auto dealers to ensure titles are processed timely with perfected liens.
- Log all titles and maintain relevant internal records for the purpose of tracking titles received from branches, as well as titles sent to and received from MVD.
- Perform weekly review and balancing of invoices, and deposit MVD fees prior to payment.
- Balance the MVD General Ledger (GL) on a monthly basis in partnership with accounting.
- Scan all completed, original titles into the credit union's lending system of record.
- Ensure all titles and supporting documentation are placed in the proper member loan file.
- Track the daily payoff report on all titled consumer loans.
- Process and mail all released titles, as well as prepare title releases or duplicate titles for dealerships when requested or necessary.
- Provide timely and accurate information to Members regarding their MVD-related questions, helping guide Members through the process for various MVD transactions.
- Regularly review and update MVD processes to ensure compliance with changing laws and regulations. Prepare and submit reports on activities as required by management.
- Partner with branch staff, lending staff, and others to ensure ongoing adherence, quality control, and relevant standards meet or exceed credit union requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Must have knowledge of office machines and equipment, and be able to type, and have proficient used of Microsoft Office Suite products.

- Demonstrate patience, tact, enthusiasm and positive attitude towards the staff, Members and general public.
- Job Related Travel - As required.
Education/Experience:
- Education or experience equivalent to a High School diploma or G.E.D certificate, in addition to 2-3 years of banking, financial operations or related experience.
- Experience working with the New Mexico Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) is preferred but not required.
