Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Upholds SmartBank Core Values and Core Purpose
2. Adheres to and embraces the SmartBank Way by Acting Smart, Looking Smart and Being Smart
3. Set up auto transfers (internal and external) on loans
4. Complete verification of loans when requested
5. Reconcile and balance daily general ledger accounts on core system
6. Review daily loan reports
7. Notate any missing loan documents and time allowances for missing items
8. Images all loan, customer, and financial documentation as necessary
9. Images loan paid out information
10. Reviews loans - dual control is implemented by a Loan Booking Specialist booking the original documents and a Loan Servicing Specialist reviewing the file
11. Prepares and monitors loan participation documentation as required for both sold and purchased loans, handle wiring transaction with corresponding banks
12. Provide updated financials, tax returns, etc. to participating banks continually
13. Monitor and review tickler system notices daily for reminders of necessary adjustments
14. Updates loan officer's exceptions and tracking
15. Maintain collateral files
16. Quote payoffs and fax to customers/title company
17. Research and answer customer questions or requests
18. Handle credit bureau report disputes and corrections
19. Required to stay up to date on all systems by attending webinars or classes as needed
20. Complies with all applicable federal, state, and local banking and industry related laws and regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act
21. Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements and Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent
2. 3 years of banking and customer service experience
3. Some loan experience
Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates):
None
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Ability to apply knowledge and sound judgment in decision-making using
established guidelines
2. Excellent customer service skills
3. Must be capable of handling confidential information in a trustworthy manner
4. Proficient level of computer competency including Microsoft Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook), and typing
5. Strong written and oral communication skills
6. Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, with frequent interruptions
7. Detail oriented and ability to function in a team environment
8. Self-starter
9. Must be able to able to prioritize and organize daily workflow
10. Demonstrates the ability to maintain a positive attitude
11. High level of integrity
12. Able to maintain regular and predictable attendance
13. Willing to accept new ideas and methods and be agreeable to change
Work Conditions:
1. Able to sit for long periods of time
2. Frequent and regularly required movements using wrists, hand and/or fingers
3. Ability to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information
4. Must be available to work the required schedule of the department
5. May be required to travel to training sessions or meetings
