Loan Officer

Position Overview

Responsible for developing new consumer, commercial, real estate, and secondary market loan business; structuring and closing loans; and maintaining and servicing an existing portfolio.

Essential Job Functions

1. Provide underwriting and compliance services for bank held portfolio loans and secondary market qualified loans.
2. Monitor an existing loan portfolio to ensure proper risk ratings and early identification of potential problems.
3. Establish and develop new construction, interim, and permanent mortgage financing requests for new and existing customers.
4. Maximize Bank profitability through appropriate pricing of new loan originations, fee income, and selling of all Bank products and services.
5. Negotiate terms, structure loan financing based on risk considerations and present credit for approval to appropriate levels of authority as required.
6. Support the Bank's strong relationship banking culture through on-going customer contact, quality customer service, and superior product knowledge.
7. Represent the Bank by participating in local community events.
8. Follow all Bank policies and procedures.

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in a finance or sales related field or equivalent experience.
• Prior loan experience preferred.
• 3 years banking experience preferred.

Job Specifications

• Must pass background check and drug screen.
• Must have a satisfactory credit report.

Work Environment

• This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.

Physical Requirements

• This is largely a sedentary role, requiring use of typical office equipment.

Supervisory Responsibility

• May have supervisory responsibilities for loan processing and administrative personnel.
