Summary:
- The Loading Dock Master will demonstrate efficient leadership, management and communication handling dock scheduling/activities while working to minimize disruptions and inconveniences to hospital workflow. Oversees various hospital staff/departments that utilize Loading Dock and guides, instructs and escalates breaches and/or concerns so that the Loading Dock operation is safe, efficient and orderly.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor Loading Dock to ensure only authorized delivery vehicles access the area and prevent traffic obstructionsManage and update Loading Dock schedule for all deliveries and break downs of special event furniture, catering, decorations, hospital supply, regular vendors, off-site surgical instrumentation facility, dumpster / waste removals, oxygen supply vendor, medical gas cylinder delivery and access for food delivery, etc.Demonstrate strong communication skills and ability to interact with a variety of groups, including local officials, building tenants, facilities managementOrganize spacing of deliveries on Loading Dock and coordinate delivery inside the buildingMaintain open communication and collaborate as needed for deliveriesCollaborate with building tenants, public realm manager hospital managers (clinical and administrative), external vendor managers, security and facilities management support to ensure Loading Dock deliveries are quickly unloaded and distributedWork closely with Security Department ( booth at top of Loading Dock) to insure Loading Dock flow is monitoredMonitors linen chutes, trash compactors, dock plates etc to insure they are operating correctly.Maintains cleanliness of Loading Dock and works w EVS to insure daily upkeep
Credentials:
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
- And 3+ years 3+ years’ experience in managing Loading Dock (warehouse, retail, big-box store, etc)Education Specialization:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science
- Education Specialization: Business, Inventory Management, or similar supply chain focus
