Duties and Responsibilities
- Support strategies to further improve Process Safety in design or through mitigations
- Review and comment on:o Process Flow Diagramso Process Piping and Instrument Diagramso Cause and Effect Diagramso Fire Water System Design Drawings o Fire Exposed Envelopes Drawings
- Manage risk assessments, hazard identification/evaluation studies, hazard operability studies, consequences analysis, layers of protection analysis and department reviews
- Advise project team on safety risks identified and mitigation options
- Advise project team on fire protection/prevention analysis and mitigations
- Participate in the development of Process Safety and risk management decision-making tools
- Provides insight in building siting/overpressure analysis
- Participate in/conduct incident and near-miss investigations
- Review and endorsing Management of Change (MOC) submissions
- Management and control of specialty consultants
- Act as a key contributor to the Safe Operations Committee
- Analyze Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA)
- Interpret the applicability of codes and regulations related to PSM
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

- Bachelor's Degree Process, Chemical, or equivalent science degree Required
- Master's Degree Process, Chemical, or equivalent science degree Preferred
- 8+ Energy or LNG Industry Preferred
- 8 Process safety design within a petrochemical/refinery/LNG export facility Required
- Managing technical SPM type contracts from inception through execution.
- Hazard identification (HAZID), evaluation studies including vapor dispersion analysis, and risk assessments including hazard operability studies (HAZOP) addressing SIL and LOPA considerations and quantitative risk assessments (QRA); OSHA Process Safety Management Standard and EPA RMP Rule; Evaluating and making risk-based decisions regarding risk mitigation options and MOC amendments; Advanced
- Facility siting analysis; Direct prior work experience in LNG export facility EPC design performing the specified Roles/Functions Advanced
- Possesses intermediate computer skills including project management, database, spreadsheet and word processing skills Advanced
- Oral and written communication skills Advanced
- Able to work with a culturally diverse group of technical individuals whose skills cover the range required to engineer, operate and maintain the company's LNG export liquefaction facilities and receiving terminals (all disciplines including process, instrumentation and controls, mechanical, electrical and civil). - Planning and organizational skills and meets work deadlines and delivers results. Advanced
- Ability to present information, results, findings to technical and management level type personnel. Advanced
- Possesses the personality and ability to relate to and establish a mutually respectful relationship with technical consultants, permitting regulators (i.e. FERC, etc.), EPC contractors, management, project team/peers and the various facility operations personnel (including plant manager, plant supervision and plant operators/maintenance workers) whom are all responsible for ensuring safe and efficient operations. - Working knowledge of software: including MS Office, PHA Pro, Bowtie, PHAST, FLACS Advanced
- Knowledge of the applicable codes and regulations associated with PSM, and LNG facility sitting Advanced
- PE or SE license Preferred
