Job Title: Medical Assistant
Job Type: Part-Time or Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers in performing medical procedures and examinations on pediatric patients.
- Obtain vital signs, record patient information accurately, and update electronic health records (EHR) efficiently.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and medical equipment to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
- Administer immunizations and medications under the supervision of licensed medical professionals.
- Provide patient education and support, explaining treatment plans and procedures to parents or guardians.
- Support the front desk by handling patient registrations and managing phone calls.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, and administrative staff, to ensure smooth patient flow and exceptional patient care.
- Demonstrate strong task prioritization skills to manage multiple patient needs effectively.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Completion of a Medical Assistant training program is preferred.
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
- CPR certification (BLS) is required.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer skills.
- Previous experience in a pediatric healthcare setting is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Ability to work during Little Star Pediatric Urgent Care's operating hours, which are Monday to Friday from 4:30 PM to 11:00 PM, and weekends from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with occasional holidays.
- Willingness to work a share of weekend shifts as part of the regular schedule.
