Little Friends - Substitute Teacher

Little Friends child care program, located on the campus of Friends School of Baltimore, is always seeking Substitute Teachers whether FT/PT. If you are a professional, enthusiastic, passionate, nurturing, caring, and kind individual, this is the place for you. We are looking for individuals who can provide quality care for children ages 6 weeks through 4 years of age.

Responsibilities:

• Learn, understand, and embrace the Quaker aspect of the school and use it daily through Morning Meetings, curriculum, classroom management, and all parent/child/employee interactions.
• Oversee students and activities in the classroom to which you are assigned.
• Create a nurturing, enriching, age-appropriate learning environment for the classroom to which you are assigned.
• Structure a relaxed atmosphere for children while ensuring a safe and organized program, adhering to all school rules and policies.
• Greet the parents and build rapport; communicate with them about their child's day daily.
• Maintain a neat and professional image at all times.

• Adhere to all school rules and policies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Prior experience or an interest in working with children under the age of 4.
• Must be dependable and a team player.
• This position also requires excellent communication skills, commitment, and the ability to follow instructions.

License/Certification:

• CPR Certification; must be maintained by obtaining recertification as necessary.
• Americans with Disabilities Act (have or complete within the first 30 days)
• Basic Health and Safety (have or complete within the first 30 days)
• Covid Safety (have or complete within the first 30 days)

Education and Experience:

• Must be 16 years of age
• High school Diploma or GED required
• Experience with or interest in children ages 6 weeks through 3 years is required.
