DESCRIPTION
ALTA Language Services seeks a talented individual to join our Testing Department to develop and review multiple-choice reading comprehension tests in Lithuanian. The linguist will be expected to deliver accurate, high-quality documentation within a specific deadline and timeline. Training regarding the specifics of the development will be provided.
- Develop reading comprehension test content, as per development specifications provided by ALTA Project Managers.
- Report to Project Managers about the progress of the work.
- Respond to review comments provided by members of the project team.
SKILLS
Native speaker of the given target language as specified in the position title.
Excellent reading and writing skills in the target language.
Advanced communication skills in English.
Ability and desire to work collaboratively.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Professionalism.
Computer literacy.
Research skills.
EDUCATION/TRAINING
Degree: College degree or equivalent experience. A degree in linguistics, translation, or similar is a plus.
Computer Knowledge: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Must have email access with the capability to send and receive attached files, and must be able to navigate the Internet.
Languages: Native-level fluency in target language is required. Ability to communicate in English is essential, as it will be the language used in emails and training materials.EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in test development is preferred.
Previous experience using a language proficiency scale (e.g., ILR or CEFR) is preferred.
Experience using the target language in a professional capacity (writing, teaching, translation, interpretation, etc.) is required.
