SalaryThe Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County is now accepting applications for Literacy AmeriCorps Members dedicated to serving the community and helping others. Literacy AmeriCorps members provide tutoring and mentoring services to at-risk youth and adults at elementary schools, high schools, libraries, and other partner sites throughout Palm Beach County. Members serving full-time* receive a living allowance (stipend) of up to $33,004 and are eligible for health benefits. Members who successfully complete a full term of service also receive an education award of up to $6,895.
In addition to making a difference in the community, Literacy AmeriCorps Members engage in meaningful professional development and training opportunities throughout the term of service. This opportunity is ideal for recent college graduates and/or college students taking a gap year who are interested in gaining valuable work experience while also making a positive impact on the community. Members build their resumes with experience in education, ESOL, coaching, tutoring and mentoring, making them desirable candidates for future employment opportunities. That said, anyone who has a heart for serving the community of Palm Beach County is welcome to apply.
