SUMMARY:Our team is looking for an energetic and dynamic Linux BSP & Kernel Engineer who will primarily be responsible for developing custom distributions of Linux and supporting low level software for Axiom Space Station computers. This position reports to the Lead Software Engineer. This role is onsite and will be based at our ASTC facility.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with a team to design, develop, and test embedded flight software
• Design and build functional, efficient, dependable, secure, and maintainable software
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on board-level firmware
• Give and receive productive feedback during collaboration and in design and code reviews
• Serve as the team subject matter expert on Linux and OS / bootloaders
• Collaborate effectively with avionics engineers to integrate hardware simulation and fault injection solutions into real-time software
• Support milestone reviews such as PDR, CDR, and SDR
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field
• 10+ years' experience in low level Linux embedded development
• Strong in C, embedded linux, u-boot, buildroot
• Hands on experience with hardware and embedded board bring up
• Must have a strong experience in Building & Debugging bootloaders, Linux kernel and drivers.
• Must be good in make, and exposed to at least one of the build systems such as Yocto.
• Strong knowledge in device tree structures and prior experience in BSP porting.
• Preference for knowledge in Xilinx, Vivado, petalinux, qemu

Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

• Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Physical Requirements

• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
