INDUSTRY: Food processing environment regulated by state and federal government agencies.
SUMMARY: Under supervision, assist a department or area supervisor in operations of an area, line, or production process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other comparable duties may be assigned.
* Assist supervisor in the supervision and operation of an area, production line, or product in process.
* Take responsibility for and operate smaller production lines, answering to the shift supervisor
* Supervise routine activities of workers within a department, production line, or area.
* Check and adjust equipment for proper functioning as directed by immediate supervisor.
* Control line flows as directed by Shift Supervisor or Production Supervisor.
* Monitor assigned processing equipment and make adjustments as authorized.
* Shut line down as necessary, notify appropriate personnel of line problem areas and take appropriate action.
* Perform minor maintenance and repair of complex food processing equipment.
* Provide cleaning agents to sanitation crew and monitor sanitation in specified areas as authorized.
* Maintain time and production records as directed.
* Maintain safe and sanitary work area.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under supervision, may supervise various numbers of employees dependent on production schedules. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; assigning and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Employees in this position will not be considered for bracket increase until they achieve forklift certification. Employees in this position will be judged according to Attitude, Job and Product knowledge, and application of that knowledge. To be eligible for bracket increase the following conditions must be met. Have no written warnings or other disciplinary actions on record within the last 6 months. Maintain good standing with regards to attendance, not exceeding 6 unexcused days off within the 12 months prior to the proposed bracket increase. Demonstrate a willingness to help and follow supervisor/ manager instruction. Demonstrate the ability and willingness to perform duties of the job correctly and thoroughly. Maintain a positive attitude with regards to the workplace and treat coworkers with respect at all times. In particular, Line Helper position a specific effort toward leadership of their crew and ownership of the line they run will be a critically analyzed to see bracket upgrades. Employees in this position also need to demonstate leadership in independent Projects/Lines they may run.
