Form of workJOB TITLE: Cafeteria Helper - 6 Hrs - District Wide REPORTS TO: Food Service Director EVALUATED BY: Food Service Director JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Food Service Manager, assists in any area of food preparation in the school kitchen and assumes the responsibility of the operation of the cafeteria in the absence of the Food Service Manager and does related work as required. Reports to Food Service Manager and/or District Food Service Director. QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION: Knowledge of:Methods of preparing, cooking and serving foods in large quantitiesBasic kitchen utensils and equipmentKitchen sanitation and safety precautions Ability to:Prepare salads, sandwiches and other foodsOperate equipment found in school kitchensSupervise student helpers if requiredUnderstand and carry out oral and written directionsMaintain cooperative relationships with fellow employees and studentsMaintain a neat, clean and professional appearanceComplete tasks assigned by district food service directorObtain an Oregon food handlers card within 30 days of hire.
