Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc.)
- Cook food items according to the menu and recipes
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Monitor stock levels and place orders when there are shortages
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or similar role
- Knowledge of culinary, kitchen, and dietary department operations
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Knowledge of food safety principles and procedures
- Experience in the food industry is a plus
- Accuracy and speed in executing tasks
- Familiarity with knife handling and other kitchen equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Team spirit; strong communication skills to collaborate with kitchen staff
