Qualifications:

  • Must be able to communicate in English, Spanish is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Cook in heavy volume operation or three years in preparation line staff position.
  • Culinary certification preferred.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Must be able to frequently move freely about the property, withstand various activities such as frequent walking, and withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction.
  • Must be able to work different shifts, which may include holidays and weekends.
  • Be able to work indoors and be exposed to various environmental contaminants including smoke.
  • Ability to lift or carry a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted in the performance of specific tasks assigned.
  • Must be able to work with others, communicate well, receive direction, and provide feedback when needed to achieve department goals and objectives.
  • Must maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with guests in a congenial and polite manner.
  • Must be able to address stressful situations with clients with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness.
  • Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods.


Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of the Cook is to be Responsible for the safe, efficient operation of the assigned workstation, strong knowledge of food preparation and presentation following prescribed recipes. The Cook with prepares food in assigned kitchen outlet

  • Adhere to the Miccosukee Service Expectations and ensure team compliance.
  • Meets standards in regards to presentation, taste and portions.
  • Maintains food quality and eye-appealing appearance on all menu items in accordance with the standards of each recipe and pictures showing presentation of those items.
  • Ensures all work stations are properly setup and broken down on timely matter during each meal period.
  • Communicates with the Chef and Sous Chef to order proper quantities for following shifts.
  • Logs kitchen waste and spoiled items and complete any other reports assigned by the Executive Chef.
  • Prepares logs and report maintenance needs immediately.
  • Enforces and follow all daily operational procedures.
  • Ensures that the quality of the food is up to par with the prescribed procedures.
  • Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times and to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Must be able to obtain a Tribe of Indian Work Permit
