About the job
Reminiscent of a European market, our flagship Elephants Delicatessen at NW 22nd has served decades of Portlanders. A top destination for locals and food-loving tourists, it features deli cases, a dessert bar, baked goods, coffee, cocktails, a grill and oven, pizza, wine, cheese and charcuterie, gifts, specialty grocery items, and more. This spot hops during lunch and on busy weekends!
We are looking for an energetic team-player to serve menu items from the hot food line and prepare pizza in our wood-fired oven. Personal motivation and teamwork are imperative. This position requires exemplary hospitality and active customer service, knowledge of specialty and high-end products, and efficient workflow. As you grow in your role, you could learn how to make sandwiches, and other grill menu items to order.
Our ideal candidate will have a year of cooking experience, strong organizational and knife skills, and will be self-motivated! As this is an open kitchen, applicant must enjoy and be consistently oriented toward customer service and be self-aware during all interactions!
A food handlers card is required for this position.
