Position Overview:
As a Line Cook at Burs Restaurant, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen operations. Working under the guidance of our Head Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes with precision and efficiency. Your primary focus will be on executing recipes to perfection, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and upholding food safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and assembling sauces.
- Cook dishes according to established recipes, ensuring consistency in flavor, presentation, and cooking techniques.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, grills, and fryers safely and efficiently.
- Monitor food levels and replenish supplies as needed to ensure a smooth flow of service.
- Coordinate with other kitchen team members to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following sanitation guidelines and food safety protocols.
- Assist in the receiving and storage of deliveries, properly rotating stock to minimize waste.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of food and adherence to sanitation standards.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop and refine recipes, contributing ideas for menu enhancements and seasonal specials.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to further develop culinary skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working as a Line Cook or in a similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Solid understanding of culinary techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment operation.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Certification from a culinary program or relevant culinary training is a plus.
