- This is an on-call position not to exceed 1040 hours worked in a fiscal year.
The Limited Duty Corrections Deputy maintains the order, discipline and security of the County Jail and assists in the processing of persons into and releases persons from the jail within established guidelines. Deputies are responsible for documenting daily events and activities and maintaining current and accurate custody information as well as maintaining relations and addressing needs of attorneys, the court and the general public.

Essential Functions:
Safety of Adults in Custody, Staff and General Public. Security of the Facility
- Monitoring, inspecting, searching, counseling and providing direct services to the population of adults in custody and control room operations.
- Assist with bookings and releases of adults in custody including, clothed and unclothed searches, data collection, verifying and entry; screening for medical and or mental health concerns; inventory and securing of property and funds belonging to adults in custody.
- Maintaining accurate and current custody documents, computerized activity logs, visitation log, receipts, distribution of facility reports, and completing officer reports related to routine and emergency incidents, rule violations, possible criminal activities, and use of force incidents.
- Answering phones, scheduling visits with social and professional visitors, maintaining positive working relations with other criminal justice professionals and addressing concerns and questions from adults in custody's family and friends.
- Setting up and administering medicines and medical orders as ordered or directed by Facility Medical Staff.
- Assist with educational or rehabilitative programming to the population of adults in custody.
- Counseling and referral of adults in custody.
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 18 years of age at time of hire
- Valid State issued Driver's License with good driving record.
- Successfully pass a background, psychological and medical evaluation before being hired.
- First Aid and CPR Certifications within 3 months of hiring
- Ability to work any shift
- Must successfully pass the written POST (Police Officer Selection Test) by a minimum of 70% overall. Test is no cost to you and consists of Math, Reading, Grammar and Writing.
