Lifestyle Collaborator / Caregiver (Private).

Location: Burlington Vermont

Full-Time: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM-3:30 PM

Hourly Pay: $25-$32/hr. Wage is commensurate with education & experience.

About Me:

Cheers! My name is Ned, and I am a 40-year-old highly independent quadriplegic. I work as a therapist, and I do my best to balance professionalism and fun in all of life’s adventures. I think of myself as a fun and lighthearted individual who will “Try anything twice” and believe that "You must be interested to be interesting.” I have an eight-year-old golden retriever named Charlie, and she is spectacular in every way! My interests are varied, but I gravitate most toward good food, great conversation, and being with the people I love!

In working with me, your role is primarily a supportive one; I have a spinal cord injury and rely on around-the-clock care support to assist me with my medical needs, regular activities, and all other assorted tasks. With intention, this is a laid-back position that is welcoming, flexible, and intrinsically social! I encourage all of my supports to bring reading materials, a laptop, or anything that they would like to engage with when we are not actively involved with one another.

The most important quality of my support members is an appreciation for direct and open communication. Every day I seek to find interest and engagement; an integral part of this is having a support with whom I am genuinely connected with. By the end of any shift, I want to feel that our time has been meaningfully spent. You’ll find that this position provides a rewarding working relationship, which we can both benefit from and look forward to. I surround myself with individuals aligned with these values and shared beliefs!
