YOUR JOB AND DAILY MISSIONS:

Context & Team objectives

The newly created Global Chief Underwriting & Pricing Office (GUO) will be accountable for establishing, enabling, and driving profit and growth through Product Underwriting Strategy, Portfolio Design and Technical Underwriting Excellence in partnership with the AXA Entities, for both Commercial and Retail, through:

  • Portfolio Design Steering
  • Underwriting and Product Strategy
  • Technical Underwriting Guidance
  • Pricing Models, Platforms and Analytics
  • Risk Appetite deployment
  • Ceded Reinsurance strategy design and purchasing

As part of the Group Chief Underwriting & Pricing Office you will join the Group Life, Savings and Health Pricing Team as Life Pricing Senior Manager. You will lead a team that ensures Market Leading Technical Pricing in Life Products (Protection and Savings).

Key Accountabilities

  • Build the Pricing Policy and enforce its execution, including best practices and technical standards for governance.
  • Engage closely with the Group Underwriting teams, Entity Pricing members, Reserving, Group Operations, and Finance to improve pricing accuracy and overall business performance.
  • Carry out Pricing Technical Reviews assessing Pricing Strategy, Adequacy, Governance, processes, tools, and models’ calibration.
  • Support portfolio management through metrics validations, regular reviews, and definition of consequent pricing actions.
  • Work closely with Group Underwriting, Operations and Centers of Excellence to implement the Pricing Technical Excellence Plan.
  • Address Regulatory Pricing Topics and develop actions plans to respond to legal and regulatory changes and ensure fairness.
  • Build a strong Pricing Expert network with internal and external stakeholders to influence technical Pricing improvements globally and drive consistency in approach where appropriate.
  • Stay abreast of and appropriately communicate knowledge of industry changes, specifically changes that affect pricing.
  • Share expertise on product pricing methodologies, including pricing algorithms, pricing parameters, and advanced pricing techniques.

Dimensions

  • Global scope: Life businesses & geographies.
  • Responsible for the pricing remit for the AXA Group retaining matrix responsibility across Life lines of business.
  • Management of the Life Pricing team.

Stakeholders:

This position will work closely with Heads of Pricing within the entities Reviews and transversal initiatives will be carried with teams in GIE and entities across Finance, Risk Management, Underwriting, Claims, etc.

Your Profile

Experience

  • Fully Certified Actuary or equivalent;
  • Extensive experience in Life pricing and Products within an AXA entity or external organization;
  • Experience or studies in data science applied to insurance is a plus;
  • Ability to directly influence strategy and portfolio management, as well as setting the technical culture;
  • Proven experience interacting with Senior leaders and evolving in matrixed environments;
  • Experience in driving change and building relationships;
  • Proven experience in leading multicultural and multifaced geographically diverse teams is a plus.
