Our Life Enrichment Manager is key to helping our residents "live life their way" by engaging our residents in social and recreational activities, maintaining compliance in our regulated areas, providing regular reports to the department manager and Administrator, as well as, assist in providing emotional support while maintaining residents right to privacy.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Three years' experience in geriatric activities services or nursing home activities required.
- National Activity certification, or related therapy certification required.
- Dementia Training and certification required.
- Willing to function as a team member with a genuine desire to work with a geriatric population.
Primary Functions & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing and conducting a full array of activities that are congruent with residents' needs and interests per resident assessment designed to meet the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident.
- Coordinates special activity programs and events.
- Ensures that programs encompass all aspects of federal, state, local, and facility regulations, including the safety of residents and staff. Oversees activities conducted by the Events Coordinator, Life Enrichment Assistants, and volunteers.
- Obtains pertinent activity data about each resident within 3 days or as required after admission. Assesses interests and creates an individual activity plan of care to meet needs and interests for all regulated areas. of the resident.
- Maintains regular progress and follow-up notes indicating responses to the plan of care and adjustment.
- Maintains documentation compliance per federal & state regulations and standards of best practices to include activities assessments, MDS, Care plans, and progress notes.
- Participates in Interdisciplinary Resident Care Plan meetings, offering a holistic overview of resident's treatment of the social/ emotional and activity needs and interests of residents as part of the total care plan.
