Job description

OVERVIEW:

Assist in arranging social, cultural, and recreational activities for both Assisted Living Center and Memory Care Center Residents in the licensed Assisted Living Facility. Assist the Life Enrichment Department in carrying out a program of meaningful activities which includes but is not limited to: spiritual, recreation, diversion, intellectual, and educational stimulation for Residents.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Keeps confidential all information not specifically authorized to be given to others.
  • Reviews Resident’s backgrounds for appropriate activity level.
  • Builds and coordinates the respective unit’s activity calendar and its activities.
  • Encourages Resident participation. Changes in participation are communicated with the Care Center Life Enrichment Director.
  • Remind Residents of their preferred activities as needed.
  • Performs special services for Residents such as writing letters, running errands within the facility, supplying Residents with activity supplies needed for independent leisure pursuits, or other services as requested by the Life Enrichment Director.
  • Aid in the decorating of the facility for holidays, parties, etc.
  • Maintain information of Residents birthdays and anniversaries; and decorates each Resident’s door for such events.
  • Assist other unit’s activities as requested.
  • Deliver mail 6 days a week.
  • Uphold a positive attitude and supply exceptional guest service to Residents at all times. Treat Residents with dignity and respect.
  • Organize and maintain activity supply storage on a daily basis.
  • Prepare for special events.
  • Prepare activity supplies as needed for activities, (e.g. crafts/baking)
  • Introduce yourself to new Residents and review the activity calendar.
  • Make informal visits with Residents and formal visits as requested by the Life Enrichment Director.
  • Organize and maintain respective activity rooms and activity office.
  • Document SNF Resident’s attendance in activities on monthly activity calendars as needed.
  • Distribute activity calendars and other facility correspondence as needed.
  • Follow safe food handling procedures for activities working with food.
  • Organize and assist Resident Association Meetings as requested by Residents (Not SCC).
  • Attend Resident outings as requested by the Life Enrichment Director.
  • Encourage Residents to attend Resident Association Meetings (Not SCC).
  • Observes and follows all safety policies and procedures.
  • Observes and follows infection control policies and procedures.
  • Attends all mandatory in-services as required.
  • Demonstrates positive guest relations to internal and external customers.
  • Team Members are required to report to their Department Director all incidents of actual or possible abuse of a Resident that they become aware of. Abuse in this respect includes, but is not limited to, verbal, sexual, physical, and/or mental abuse, corporal punishment, involuntary seclusion, neglect, and/or any misappropriation of property concerning St. Mark Village Residents. Team Members will make the report as soon as possible after they become aware of the incident of actual or possible abuse.
  • May be assigned other related duties and responsibilities as required by Care Center Life Enrichment Director.

REQUIRED SKILL, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Team Member frequently is required to climb or balance. The Team Member is occasionally required to sit. The Team Member must occasionally lift and/or move more than 35 pounds.

Pay: From $16.25 per hour
