Embark Benton is set in a beautiful location nestled in the mountains alongside the Hiwassee River. We are seeking a residential Life Coach to guide and mentor our students at our Short-Term Residential facility. Various schedules needed: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday + one variable shift/day from 2 PM to 11 PM or 7 AM to 4 PM. Includes one Saturday a month (rotating). Wednesday, Thursday, Friday one variable shift/day from 2 PM to 11 PM or 7 AM to 4 PM. Includes one Saturday a month (rotating). Weekend shift available too.
The mission of the Life Coach role is to support various teams on campus in following the student schedule and to model safe and trusting relationships. This position also requires the Life Coach to collaborate with the treatment team to fulfill Embarks core purpose to profoundly change lives and create joy. The Life Coach will ensure student safety by maintaining firm boundaries and expectations as well as offering constant supervision. The position requires the ability to think fast on your feet and willingness to "jump in the mud" during all daily activities with the students.
Responsibilities
- Maintain safe boundaries and relationships with students and fellow staff.
- Maintain a positive outlook and respond well to feedback.
- Maintain confidentiality of students, parents, and fellow staff.
- Work closely with Team Leads and Shift Supervisors to facilitate student schedule and ensure safety while on the floor.
- Work closely with students to assist in maintaining a positive classroom and overall learning setting.
- Connect with every visitor and tour on campus in a warm, positive, confident, and caring way.
- Attend and actively support campus during campus events.
- Present for classroom instruction with students to provide positive support and assistance.
- Support Shift Supervisors, Team Leads, and Life Coaches in whatever program is needed on a day-to-day basis.
- Actively participate and engage in recreation therapy, groups, and school.
- Ensure the day-to-day operations of the campus runs as designed.
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
- Able to pass federal background check, fingerprints, and drug screen.
- Minimum of 21 years of age.
- Valid driver's license/in good standing.
