Elevate is recruiting a Life Care Planner/Testifying Expert. The LCP Testifying Expert will have experience in Life Care plan development, deposition and trial testimony. Life Care Planners are responsible for projecting the future costs of medical care and services for ill or injured patients. The LCP Testifying Expert will provide testimony regarding the future care costs as projected in the Life Care plan.
Specifically, the Life Care Planner/Testifying Expert will
- Work independently yet collaboratively in a virtual environment.
- Develop Life Care Plans for seriously ill or injured patients.
- Provide expert testimony to present Life Care plans and Life Care plan rebuttals in depositions and trials.
- Evaluate the future care needs of individuals with disabilities or chronic health conditions.
- Develop an integrated plan that includes items and services required along with specific costs.
- 5+ years of experience in Life Care Planning.
- Experience in determining the cost of medical care and services based on standardized methodology.
- Experience in providing testimony.
- Knowledgeable in billing and coding.
- Able to determine the costs of medical services and equipment.
- Ability to apply a consistent methodology to formulate Needs-Driven recommendations.
- Knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, DRG, APC, HCPCS Level II coding.
- Knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and Word, as well as web-based programs.
- Certification in Life Care Planning, CLCP or CNLCP.
- Basic knowledge of both medical and legal fields as it pertains to Life Care planning.
- Knowledge, skills, experience, training, and education in Life Care Planning.
- The hourly rate for this contract-based position is $130 per hour based on job-related skills, experience, level, and location.
