LiDAR Technician
Job Description
- Perform registration, reprojection, classification, extraction and mapping from LiDAR data.
- Familiarity working with raw drone lidar data, including IMU data, trajectories, and post-processing.
- Use existing aerial control to apply adjustments and corrections as needed to increase precision and perform QA/QC assessments to ensure accuracy and proper data management.
- Assist UAS team with project planning and field procedures for data capture
- Work under the direct supervision of a Registered Professional Land Surveyor.
- Identify possible problems and conflicts and brings them to the supervisor’s attention.
- Serve as a resource for internal staff on LiDAR data processing on topographic and utility surveys
- Process geospatial data, work with point cloud data collected by either airborne or mobile methods, and extract 2d and 3d info to help generate maps
- Deliver detailed maps from remote sensing data
- Ensure data is stored correctly and free of errors
- Ensure project expectations and deadlines are met
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent or specialized vocational training.
- Prior experience with LiDAR data usage is required.
- Prior experience with photogrammetry is preferred.
- 2-5 years of survey experience with at least two years of office experience.
- MicroStation and/or Civil 3D experience.
