Position Overview:
As a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) and Back Office Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing safe and compassionate patient care, supporting clinic providers, and overseeing the efficient functioning of back office operations. This dynamic role requires a combination of clinical expertise, leadership skills, and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care Excellence:
- Apply clinical expertise within the LVN Scope of Practice for safe and compassionate patient care.
- Accurately document clinical data in compliance with established standards and systems.
- Contribute to health education, disease management, and billing processes.
- Utilize age-specific interventions for optimal patient care across diverse populations.
- Perform vital sign assessments, record patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EPIC), and conduct thorough medical history reviews.
- Administer vision chart tests and manage medication and lab supply expiration dates.
Procedure Support and Patient Preparation:
- Assist providers in preparing patients for procedures, ensuring privacy and comfort.
- Facilitate diagnostic laboratory specimen sample procurement and processing.
- Ensure timely inclusion of laboratory results in patient records.
Back Office Supervision:
- Supervise and guide Medical Assistant Staff LVNs to ensure cohesive teamwork and high-quality care delivery.
- Collaborate with Nursing Manager and/or Clinic Manager to maintain regulatory compliance and nursing activity standards.
Administrative and Communication Skills:
- Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Utilize computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, internet usage, and Practice Management Systems.
- Demonstrate reliability, trustworthiness, flexibility, and uphold the highest ethical standards.
- Handle multiple tasks effectively with minimal supervision, displaying strong organizational abilities.
- Foster positive interpersonal relationships through excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Clinic Practice Management System (EPIC) is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
- High School diploma or GED completion.
- Completion of vocational school LVN training is essential.
- Active LVN licensure in the State of California is mandatory.
- Strong communication skills in oral and written English are essential.
- CPR/BLS certification is required.
- Phlebotomy Certificate is essential.
- Minimum of one year of outpatient setting experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, internet usage, and Practice Management Systems.
- Proven reliability, trustworthiness, flexibility, and high ethical standards.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work autonomously with efficiency.
- Proficiency in Clinic Practice Management System (EPIC) is preferred.
- Proficient Clinical skills – Catheterization, Injections, Vital Sign assessments, and patient rooming.
