Licensed Vocational Nurse (Voc Nurse Sr)

Job Summary The Sr. LVN is responsible for sustaining an environment of intrinsic goodwill for the practice while providing optimum services to patients. The Sr. LVN provides licensed medical support to medical care providers as a Vocational Nurse for the department/clinical team to which it is assigned. The Sr. LVN is supervised by a licensed physician or registered nurse when performing duties within the Vocational Nurse scope of practice. The Sr. LVN works under the direction of clinic/department management for administrative purposes, including customer service, professional behavior & development, assignment & scheduling of work, and performance of job functions not requiring supervision by a LIP.

Minimum Qualifications

• California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
• At least two (2) years of recent LVN experience in an outpatient ambulatory clinic.
• Must provide documentation of graduation from an accredited school of vocational nursing, or completion of education and experience as a corpsman in the United States military.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS CPR certification or equivalent UCDH-issued CPR certification.
• Must provide proof of valid Intravenous (IV) Therapy and Blood Withdrawal Certification.
• Must pass UCDH Pharmacology exam.
• Knowledge of clinic's practices and protocols related to medical records, medical assisting, nursing support, and other business and office procedures.

The Midtown Primary Care clinic consists of an exemplary team of Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, and Pediatric physicians. The Midtown Clinic consists of an exemplary team of physicians, clinical and clerical support staff who provide patient centric care.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Ability to safely lift 25 pounds and assist in moving patients, and to stand on feet over extended periods.
• Must be willing to work variable days (including weekends), hours, and locations as required to meet the business needs of the practice.
