You will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to the residents. Such care must be delivered in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be required by the Director of Nursing Services designee.
This individual will be providing primary care to specific residents under the medical direction and supervision of the resident's attending physician or the DON of the facility, with an emphasis on assessment, illness prevention and health care management.
Education/Requirements:
Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a LVN in California.
Must pass pre-employment back ground check and physical
Duties:
- Provide nursing care to patients in a behavioral health setting
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
- Perform basic IV therapy and monitor patients for any adverse reactions
- Assist with specimen collection processing and ensure accurate labeling and documentation
- Perform wound care, including suture removal and dressing changes
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their healthcare needs
- Assist with infant care, including feeding, diapering, and monitoring vital signs
Skills:
- Valid Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of [Location]
- Knowledge of medical standards and protocols for behavioral health care
- Experience with DME (Durable Medical Equipment) and its proper use
- Familiarity with administering Botox injections and dermal fillers
- Ability to lift and move patients safely using proper body mechanics
- Proficient in specimen collection processing techniques
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
