Job Description
A challenging and rewarding opportunity awaits a Licensed Vocational Nurse at Santé Health System in Fresno, CA. This position is responsible for promoting the physical health of patients by providing clinical support to the physicians/providers and registered nurses, and administering nursing care and advice to patients as needed in accord with the requirements of all regulatory agencies and in response to individual patient needs.
QUALIFICATIONS- California Licensed Vocational Nurse
- CPR and ACLS certification preferred
- Minimum 2-3 years registered nursing experience, including some medical/surgical experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret human service periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Computer proficiency
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Ability to calculate figures related to medication dosages
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to work independently and accurately with minimal supervision
- Highly organized and driven to meet deadlines
- Customer service oriented and patient-focused
- Prepare equipment and aid physicians/providers or registered nurse during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
- Gives advice, patient education and instructions as directed by physicians/providers or registered nurse.
- Assists physicians/providers or registered nurse in the routine back-office duties as necessary.
- Administers medications in accordance with nursing standards.
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
- Calls in prescriptions and refills of prescriptions as directed by physicians/providers.
- Clean and sterilize instruments and other materials.
- Relay provider communications to patients by phone or mail.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Attend required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
- Follow all LVN competencies.
