Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Perform laboratory tests such as bloodwork and urinalysis
- Take and develop x-rays
- Prepare animals for surgery and monitor anesthesia during procedures
- Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery progress
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Clean and sterilize equipment and exam rooms
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician or similar role
- Proficient in veterinary terminology and medical procedures
- Knowledge of kennel operations, including feeding, exercise, and cleaning protocols
- Experience in veterinary critical care and emergency medicine is highly desirable
- Strong skills in dog handling, including restraint techniques and behavior management
- Familiarity with pet grooming techniques and basic pet care practices
- Ability to handle animals with care, compassion, and patience
- Knowledge of animal catheterization procedures and sterile techniques
- Basic understanding of animal behavior and training principles
