Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations and assessments to determine clients' mental health needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clients' goals and needs
- Provide counseling and therapy sessions using evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing
- Assist clients in developing coping skills and strategies to manage mental health symptoms
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists and social workers, to coordinate comprehensive care for clients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation of client sessions and progress
- Stay current with industry standards and best practices through ongoing professional development and clinical research
Skills:
- Possess a valid license as a Professional Counselor
- Proficient in using the ICD-10 coding system for accurate diagnosis and billing purposes
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to mental health disorders and treatments
- Experience in conducting diagnostic evaluations and patient assessments
- Strong skills in therapeutic techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients from diverse backgrounds and establish rapport
- Familiarity with clinical research methodologies and ability to incorporate research findings into practice
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for accurate medical documentation
