Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse
SITE OF SERVICE:
- Naval Health Clinic Corpus Christi, TX
- The contractor shall provide personnel for service in the Family Practice/Primary Care/Pediatric Clinics at Naval Health Clinic Corpus Christi, TX. The Family Practice and Primary Care Clinics provide services to approximately eleven thousand (11,000) TRICARE Prime enrollees.
POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree: Certificate.
- Education: Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by one of the following
- The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)
- The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
- Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
- Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES)
- A formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces
- Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC)
- Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS)
- Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)
- OR As an alternative to the education requirements in the basic contract, the HCW may be a graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved LPN/LVN training program
- OR be a graduate of a nursing program accredited by ACEN
- OR have completed an equivalent military training program
- Experience:
- Possess at least consecutive twelve (12) months of experience with Windows-based computer systems within the preceding thirty-six (36) months
- Possess a minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience within the last three (3) years as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse.
- Possess a minimum of one year experience within the last three years as a LPN/LVN in an ambulatory care setting.
- Licensure: Possess and maintain a current unrestricted license to practice as an LPN/LVN in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
- Other Certifications:
- BLS through American Heart Association. Must be hands on course
- U.S. Citizenship: HCWs performing under this contract shall be U.S. citizens.
- Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.
- Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract and TO.
HOURS:
- The HCWs shall supplement active duty Navy nursing staff assigned to the Family Practice/Primary Care Clinics.
- The Family Practice/Primary Care Clinic operating hours are 0730 to 1700.
- The Head, Primary Care Teams will schedule all nursing staff, active duty and contractor, to ensure adequate coverage of all clinic operating hours.
- Shifts will generally be scheduled for either an eight and a half (8.5), nine (9), or eleven (11) hour period and include an uncompensated thirty (30) minute or one (1) hour meal break, respectively.
- Each HCW shall be on duty for about forty (40) hours each week.
- In no instance will an individual HCW be required to provide services in excess of eighty (80) hours in a two (2) week period.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
