JOB SUMMARY
This position is primarily responsible for directing and evaluating all resident care given by the nurses within assigned department. Additional duties include employee relations; oversees nursing assistance, provides coaching, counseling, and corrective actions. This position also requires appropriate and accurate nursing care reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) deliver quality care.
Ensuring that tasks, activities and functions assigned to others can safely be performed by the person receiving the assignment based on their educational preparation.
To ensure proper understanding and completion LPN will monitor tasks, activities and functions that are assigned to others.
Document encounters in Residents Medical Record as assigned.
Contribute to the assessment of the health status of residents.
Participate in the development and modification of a resident's plan of care.
Perform delegated tasks, activities and functions that are consistent with prior educational preparation and within scope of practice.
Provide safe and effective nursing care and assumes responsibility for the care delivered.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program, with current DC License.
Currently licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of employment.
3 to 5 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form, possess high-quality verbal and written communication ability.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Must be proficient in the accurate operation of computer applications.
Possesses an active CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification or ability to obtain.
Remains knowledgeable about specific state laws and regulations governing practice
Satisfactory completion of initial and annual clinical competencies to demonstrate aptitude as assigned by role
