PURPOSE OF JOB: To provide direct patient care and selected therapeutic interventions under the direction of a Regisered Nurse. To collaborate as part of the patient care team to accomplish the goals established for the patients and execute the objectives and policies of the hospital while functioning within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Check daily assignment and organize work space and duties to be completed accordingl, including, but not limited to maintaining timely schedule with physicians.

• Prepare and assist patients for physician visit using time effectively and efficiently. Maintain clean and stocked examination rooms.

• Obtain patient vital signs and other clinical data including: weight, height, blood pressure, apical pulse, EKG performance, pulse ox, obtain and maintain accurate medication, problem lists and chart documentation at all times.

• Ability to identify abnormal vital signs to be reported to a physician promptly.

• Respond following office protocols on in-office emergencies.

• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, medical professionals and co-workers in writing, verbally and with the use of computer technology. Ability to obtain and send medical record as needed, obtain lab results, send lab orders, complete prescription refills following established office guidelines.

• Maintain confidentiality guidelines as per organizational protocols.

• Ability to utilize office computer technology effectively and accurately.

• Ability to understand and follow office policies and procedures in providing clinical and non-clinical services.

• Cover satellite offices if needed.

• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• High school graduate of equivalent.

• LPN licensure or equivalent experience.

Experience:

• Medical office required

• Medical office experience

• Cardiac experience preferred

Other Skills: CPR certification
