Licensed Practical Nurse 4 (LPN4)
Full-Time, Permanent
Washington Corrections Center (WCC)
Shelton, WA

The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN4) for the Washington Corrections Center Shelton, WA.
Current Full Time Shifts Available:
  • Wednesday - Sunday: 0000 - 0830
  • Tuesday - Saturday: 0000 - 0830
  • Tuesday - Saturday 1400 - 2230
Licensed Practical Nurses will receive shift differential in the amount of two dollars and fifty cents ($2.50) per hour for evening shift and night shift work. Employees may also qualify for one or both of these supplemental shift premiums in addition to the above.
  • One dollar ($1.00) per hour during any hours assigned to work from 11:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m.
  • Three dollars ($3.00) per hour during any hours worked from Friday midnight to Sunday midnight.
Washington Corrections Center is our transition center were all those that are being assigned to DOC come to for initial evaluation and are then sent to other facilities for their care needs.

Duties

The Licensed Practical Nurse 4 supports the agency mission and vision by providing direct care and special clinic management services in:


  • Screening, accessing and evaluating offenders and the conditions where they live and work to ensure they are well, safe and their health care is continuous.
  • Responds to all other requests for healthcare attention in a complete, timely, clinically appropriate, and therapeutic manner.
  • Participates in monitoring, managing and coordinating the delivery of healthcare and providing progress information to the shift supervisor.
  • Assisting patients to improve their skills and ability to provide care for themselves and their family.
  • Teaching, counseling and providing health care information that improves quality health services and/or enhances safety or security.

Qualifications

  • Possession of/ability to obtain a valid Washington State license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse free of any actions.
    • Note: Must have initial and continuous unencumbered/unrestricted licensure.
  • Two years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Have American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
