Job Description
Licensed commercial lines agent directly contributes to and supports sales goals of the agency as communicated from the agency manager to meet short-term and long-term goals for agency growth. As our commercial lines agent, you will market, quote and sell our insurance products to new and existing clients. This includes new business and cross-sell opportunities as well as updating current insurance policies to keep up with the ever-changing market. Our agency has been serving clients since 2004 and its mission is to provide the best customer service by thoroughly educating clients about the importance and value of insurance products offered, which not only protect them in the present, but also helps them rebuild their future if tragedy strikes; and to do so with professionalism and integrity.
Benefits
- 39-hour work week-must be available to work between 8am-5:30pm with a 1 hour scheduled lunch. Example of a typical schedule would be Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm; lunch from 11:30am-12:30pm; Friday 8am-4pm; lunch 12pm-1pm OR Monday-Thursday 8:30-5:30pm lunch from 12:30pm-1:30pm Friday 8am-4pm lunch 12pm-1pm. Schedule is determined prior to first day of employment

- PTO hours begin accruing on first day of employment and are available to use after the 90th calendar day from the start of employment.
- In addition to PTO; Each Employee will be eligible for one paid family day off per year after completion of 6 months of employment, which includes a $50 gift card of their choice
- Payday is twice per month-15th and the last day of the month
- Aflac accident plan is provided after 6 months of employment with other Aflac benefits available for payroll deduction

- Upon completion of 2-year employment you will be able to participate in the Agency simple IRA plan with up to 3% employer match

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
- Compensation is strongly sales driven and no caps on how much you can earn
- Base + Commission + Bonuses
- Average Commercial Lines Agents earn between $50,000-$100,000+ depending on experience
Responsibilities
- Licensed in Property & Casualty prior to first day of employment
- Licensed in Life & Disability within 90 days of start of employment
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial lines coverage & rating
- Experience with various carriers and working directly with their underwriters is highly preferred
- Experience using various online rating and multiple carrier systems
- Ability to read and understand standard commercial insurance policies and endorsements
- Must have experience filling out commercial applications to submit to multiple carriers
- Solicit and write new business for commercial lines which includes a wide range of niche markets
- Ability to build and maintain professional and positive relationships
- Ability to act with a sense of urgency and effectively multi-task in a production-based environment
- Efficiently research resources to identify underwriting exposures, complete quote process and identify coverage needs or potential gaps
- Promptly and professionally obtain information from commercial customers to complete quotes through their preferred method of communication
- Develop knowledge and stay current on available commercial insurance products, underwriting, market place trends, sales processes and upcoming changes
- Achieve quarterly performance targets as assigned by the agency manager
- Understand and follow all company, as well as agency plans and programs
- Market both externally and internally to potential new and existing business clients
- Confidence in oneself to meet in person with clients in multiple levels of business
- Utilize social media and content marketing to help increase online presence
- Make outbound calls to generate appointments and leads
- Spend time outside of the office visiting businesses to generate new leads
- Ability to create your own marketing plans and keep track of results
- Create quotes, make sales presentation and close sales in a timely and professional manner
- Establish client relationships and referral network by building a solid foundation of trust, great communication and follow through
- Create follow up tasks to reach out to previous or potential clients with upcoming renewals or when new products and services are available
- Develop relationships within our community by joining business networks within our target market
- Keep very detailed records/comments of customer interactions and transactions, inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken
Requirements
Four-year college degree highly preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous sales experience required and experience working with other businesses either in the insurance industry or similar. Ideal candidate will have PC skills, math skills, strong analytical capability, conflict resolution skills, the ability to multi-task and strong verbal and written communication skills.
