Description
If you have experience working with groups of preschool children ages 3-5 and have a passion for teaching, Associated Recreation Council (ARC) has an amazing role for you as a Licensed Childcare Center Preschool Lead Teacher. This is a full-time, year-round role with Meadowbrook Community Center.
ARC, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, serves Seattle by offering access to Licensed Childcare and a variety of recreational and lifelong learning programs, classes, and activities. In this role, the Licensed Childcare Center Preschool Lead Teacher will be responsible for engaging participants and leading activities for preschool participants between the ages of 3 and 5. The Licensed Childcare Center Preschool Lead Teacher is responsible for maintaining a safe, fun, inclusive environment welcoming to all.
Location: Meadowbrook Community Center
Licensed Childcare Center Preschool Lead Teacher Responsibilities:
- Deliver the pre-planned lesson plans/calendar activities at the Licensed Childcare Center program for children ages 3-5.
- Models appropriate behavior and provides opportunities for social and emotional growth
- Communicates with team members, families, community center staff as needed
- Reports to the Associated Recreation Council Licensed Childcare Center Director
Licensed Childcare Center Preschool Lead Teacher Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Seattle Preschool Programs (SPP) requires a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Early Childhood Education (ECE) or
- A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college and verified as "approved" in MERIT AND 30 or more approved quarter credits in ECE, verified through MERIT. Up to 10 credits may be classified as ECE-School Age hybrid ("E/S") credits
- At least two years of experience working with children in a group setting between the ages of 3-5 years old in a preschool setting
- Must meet or obtain DCYF licensing requirements prior to working in the program
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday up to 40 hours per week between the hours of 8:00am - 6:00pm
- Starting September 2023
Pay:
- $26.87 hourly, non-exempt; full-time position
