THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN TECUMSEH, OKLAHOMA at the Central Oklahoma Juvenile Center.
Compensation
$37.50/hour
'This position is a safety sensitive position as defined by 63 O.S. § 427.8 (K)(1)(i)(2) due to providing direct child care. Therefore, those applicants testing positive for marijuana will not be hired even when in possession of a valid medical marijuana license.'
Job Description Summary: The LADC will provide preventive and rehabilitative drug and alcohol services to youth within the Office of Juvenile Affairs (OJA) at multiple locations through funding provided through the OMMA grant for a possible 48 months with the option to maintain employment with OJA at the end of the grant. The base of operations will be located at Central Oklahoma Juvenile Center in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. The LADC manages a caseload by orienting clients to treatment and developing individual intervention, treatment, and recovery plans collaboratively with mental health staff. The LADC facilitates group sessions and charting appropriately. LADCs may provide coaching and facilitate development of clinical competency and ethical practice to location counselors. Other job responsibilities may include performing chemical dependency evaluations for clients and making the appropriate referrals and recommendations.
Education/Licensure:
  • Holds a bachelor's degree in chemical dependency.
  • Certified as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug counselor (LADC) through the Oklahoma Department of Human Services

Knowledge & Skills:
  • Knowledge of complex mental health disorders and addiction medicine
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards governing care delivery and operations
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Effective interpersonal communication
  • Multicultural Competency
  • Knowledge of community resources and mental health systems
  • Knowledge of Twelve Step chemical treatment approaches preferred
  • Computer proficiency
  • Ability to work independently or in a team oriented environment
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Other Requirement
  • Complete a background check.
  • Have a valid Driver's License required.
  • Ability to travel between various locations.

Special Requirements
Applicants must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel normally associated with this position, possess a valid Oklahoma driver's license at time of appointment and be willing to be on-call twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The Office of Juvenile Affairs has determined that some positions in this job family are safety sensitive as defined by63 O.S. § 427.8.
Must be able to pass background check and Drug screening.
A trial period of 12 months will be required.
