Who You Are & Keys to Success
To be successful in this job, you will excel in four areas:
  • Commitment to justice, equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion: You recognize the role of gender, race, income, age, and other identities in shaping our participant's needs. You realize how your identities show up in the work, and welcome, reflect on, and act on feedback with an eye toward continuous learning about justice, equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion.
  • Inclusive leadership and management: You approach leadership with a mindset of "power with" rather than "power over." You make it a habit to include others in planning and decision-making. You inspire and motivate others to take action and meet ambitious goals. You can develop others through coaching, training, and feedback, and you know when/how to delegate. You hold your team accountable and can acknowledge growing edges (in self and others).
  • Understanding the Importance of Trauma-Informed Care: You are aware that traumatic experiences are associated with behavioral health and physical health conditions and that substance use and mental health conditions have been linked with traumatic experiences. You acknowledge that trauma-informed care is a strengths-based approach aimed at ensuring environments and services are suitable for participants who've experienced trauma.
  • Relationship-Building & Communication: You empathize with the population we serve and can put people at ease, especially when there are lines of difference. You are honest and genuine yet tactful. You believe in our mission and the communities we serve. You listen closely to the need underneath the concern and work collaboratively to devise solutions. You speak clearly and professionally. You communicate well with all stakeholders including program participants, staff, and community members.
  • Organizing, Time Management, Planning & Prioritizing- You know where you put things and can create and maintain systems to keep track of information or materials. You are known for showing up on time and completing your scheduled hours. You can estimate how long a task will take, how much time you have, how to allocate it, and how to stay within time limits and deadlines. You value the importance of time. You can create a road map to reach a goal or to complete a task. You take intentional steps to make decisions and you make decisions about what is important to focus on.

Your Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Proactive, strategic, and detail-oriented approaches
  • Strong commitment to quality, efficiency, and effectiveness
  • Logical thinker to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches
  • Accurate and efficient typist and experienced user of computers
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Self-starter while working well in a strong team environment
  • Skilled in monitoring the performance of self and others to make improvements
  • Work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
