License Addiction Counselor (LAC)
- Provide chemical dependency of client and treatment recommendations within scope of practice.
- Provide individual and group counseling to clients that is evidence-based for their substance use disorder diagnosis and/or issues that fall within the scope of the counselor’s practice.
- Provide clinical consultation for CBPRS and CM staff regarding substance use disorder issues.
- Required to be in the process of pursuing state licensure as an LAC including clinical supervision.
$21 - $25 hourly

- If clinical supervision is provided by a supervisor not associated with the agency, the LAC-in-training must still attend weekly on-site supervision sessions.
- Must apply for and be accepted as an “Addiction Counseling Licensure Credential” Candidate through the Board of Behavioral Health and hold a current and active “ACLC” credential.
- Demonstrates professional appearance and hygiene in accordance with established workplace culture.
Education:
- A Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Counseling or other recognized degree and courses required to obtain LAC credential candidacy status.
Experience:
- One (1) year experience as a Case Manager, or other position, working with the SDMI population and/or SUD population preferred.
