Library Technician

Library Technician (Full-Time)

The Fiske Public Library in the Town of Wrentham is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Library Technician. This position is responsible for performing a variety of technical and customer service focused, providing library services, information and materials for patrons. Reporting to the Library Director.

Duties include but are not limited to: Responsible for checking library materials in and out; and registering new patrons. Responsible for providing information on library services via telephone, in person and online to patrons. Responsible receiving and reconciling information, confirming receipt of materials, tracking orders and maintaining records of materials. Catalogs, with accuracy, into the library data base materials of various formats as well as process statistical reports for collection analysis and inventory control. Assists with the production of newsletters, bibliographies, informational pamphlets, and fliers as well as prepares displays.

Qualifications and Experience: Strong customer service and organizational skills. High School diploma or equivalent is required; municipal library experience desirable; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Highly proficient computer skills required. Ability to successfully pass Town of Wrentham background check and pre-employment physical.

Schedule: 35 hours a week. The actual hours will be determined as to the needs of the Library. Evening hours and some Saturdays will be required.

Salary: Full-time, Benefit eligible, Union position. Anticipated hiring hourly range: $24.8768-$25.9325 with potential education incentive. Full salary range $24.8768 to $29.9934.
