Position Purpose:

Under the general direction of the Head of Collection Management and Preservation, the Library Collections Operations Manager will provide leadership, planning, and oversight of the Baker-Berry Library stacks and the Library Collections and Services Facility. This role is responsible for supervising and managing staff across two library locations.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp:

Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • 3 plus years of increasingly responsible staff management experience.
  • 3 plus years of library, records management, or warehouse experience.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated communication and organizational skills; ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, problem solve, and complete projects.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments.
  • Experience with spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to move or lift up to 50 lbs. regularly during the workday.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with OnBase, ILLiad, Alma and other library or records management software.
  • Experience with project planning and management.
  • Experience operating a variety of warehouse machinery, including manual and powered lifts.

Description:

Plans and provides strategic direction for the organization of library and records management collections including storage and retrieval of materials at Baker-Berry Library and the Library Collections and Services Facility. Sets policies; establishes best practices; and continually refines workflows and procedures through consultation with records management and library staff.

Description:

Supervises and performs day-to-day activities in the Baker-Berry Library stacks and the Library Collections and Services Facility including: fulfillment of daily records management and library requests; digitization projects; shelving; collection shifts; scanning; coordinating collections moves; maintaining physical and online stacks way finding; and planning inventories of the collections.

Description:

Creates and compiles collection reports and data sets for library and records staff to assist with collections space planning and decision-making. Prepares items for transfer or discard. Works with staff in Metadata Services and other staff members to ensure that information pertaining to collections and holdings are accurate and up-to-date.

Description:

Serves on Library committees and task forces contributing to the stewardship of the Library’s collections. Actively engages in professional development activities.
