The Sherrard Public Library District is seeking an outgoing and adaptable individual who enjoys working with the public! Must have exceptional customer service, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide front desk service and care of library materials with professionalism, helpfulness, and organization.
- Perform circulation functions using integrated library software, and reader's advisory services.
- Promote Library activities and services during customer interactions.
- Shelves library materials accurately according to library classification systems.
- Engages in care of library collection, including processing, mending, and cleaning materials.
- Reviews materials for accuracy and condition, and maintains organization and neat appearance of library.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of customer service principles
- Ability to interact with customers with professionalism, patience, and attention to detail
- Ability to perform responsibilities with positivity, critical thinking, and accuracy
- Ability to maintain positive working relationship with library management, co-workers, and public
- Ability to adapt to new library policies, procedures, activities, and goals
- Ability to sort materials by library classification systems
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 per hour
