Librarian 1: Teen or Children's Services

Part-time hourly position; $23.25 to $24.68 per hour
20 hours per week

ABOUT THE SIUSLAW PUBLIC LIBRARY DISTRICT
The Siuslaw Public Library strives to be the best small library system in Oregon. We serve the diverse information and recreation needs of approximately 20,000 patrons across two locations. Our library district offers more than 100,000 physical items, digital materials, technology devices, programming, and, most of all, with committed staff members. As a standalone local government, the library district is governed by an elected board, and funded by property taxes from our residents. Our rural landscape includes mountains, coastline, rivers, lakes, national forest, and farmland.

The Position: The Siuslaw Public Library District has an opening for an hourly Librarian 1 specializing in Teen Services or Children’s Services. This is an entry-level, professional position that will consist of 20 hours a week and will include scheduled evening and/or weekend shifts. This position requires a commitment to excellent patron and library service for young people along with the ability to work and excel in a team environment.
Minimum qualifications are a bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience. A satisfactory combination of experience, education, and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this job may be substituted. For applicants interested in more than 20 hours per week, additional hours in the library’s circulation department may be available at the Library Assistant classification and pay rate. This position has a starting salary range of $23.25 to $24.68 per hour. The full salary range is $23.25 to $35.80 per hour.

4. Panel Interview(s): Panel interviews will be scheduled with candidates who successfully pass the subject matter expert review.

5. Additional materials may be requested of the top 2 to 3 candidates, as ranked by the interview panel.

6. Conditional offer of employment: A conditional offer of employment, contingent upon the successful completion of a reference check and background check and verification of the applicant's legal right to work in the U.S. , will be extended to the successful candidate.

7. Start Date: A start date will be determined after all conditions of employment have been met.
