Description: Hollis Public Affairs is seeking a full-time Legislative Analyst to support its public affairs and policy work. You will be responsible for monitoring, researching, and reporting on legislation, regulations, and other policy developments in the New York City Council and State Legislature. Your work will help guide the firm’s work on behalf of clients that include Fortune 500 companies, not-for-profit organizations, and will inform the engagement of its principals and public policy team with policymakers, elected officials, and other key staff and stakeholders. Daily responsibilities and tasks will include:
- Tracking, analyzing, and summarizing policy developments in key legislative, regulatory, and government bodies and agencies
- Identifying legislative or regulatory developments with the potential to impact client operations, priorities, or interests
- Providing concise, organized, and actionable summaries of key legislative developments for internal and external stakeholders o Additional responsibilities as identified
Requirements
This is a full-time position based in New York City, but the company will consider a hybrid work format as well. An advanced degree is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Work style exhibiting a high level of organization and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
- Ability to manage multiple shifting priorities under tight deadlines while performing in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
